His excellency Sri T.N.Chaturvedi was born on January 18, 1928 and has obtained M.A., L.L.B.,and Visharad degrees from University of Allahabad. He has perceived his studies from A.K.K High School Tirwa, S.N.Inter college Kannauj, Christ Church college, Kanpur.
Sri T.N.Chaturvedi joined civil service and served in various departments of Government of India. He started his political career by getting elected to Rajya Sabha in July 1992. He served as Member, Joint Parliamentory Committee and Committee on Finance(1994-95), Public Accounts Committee(1994-95 and 1997), Committee on External Affairs(1995 onwards), Committee on Official Languages(1996-97), Panel of Vice-Chairman Rajya Sabha(1996 and 18th August, 1998 onwards).
Sri T.N.Chaturvedi re-elected to Rajya Sabha in July 1998. During his second tennur as Rajya Sabha member he served in various capacities as chairman such as Chairman, Sardar Patel Foundation Committee(1998), Chairman, Joint Committee on Patents Bill(1999), Chairman, Hindi Bhavan, New Delhi(Sept. 2001 onwards), Chairman, Delhi Public Library(March, 2002 onwards). He also served as member of Indian Council of Social Science Research(2002) and Chairman, Department-Related Parlimentary Standing Committee on Industry Trustee (1) Lala Dewan Chand Trust, (ii) Bharatiya Jnanpith.
Sri T.N.Chaturvedi was author of several books and articles. To mention few Transfer of Technology among Developing Countries, and Comparative Public Administration. He also edited and co-authored a number of publications on different aspects of administration and development. He was also served as Editor, Indian Journal of Public Administration for 28 years during 1970-1998. He also worked as Member, Advisory Boards of a number of other professional and scholarly journals.
Sri T.N.Chaturvedi assumed Office of the Governor of Karnataka on 21st August 2002. |
